I have told you about my love of monograms and clocks. I also have a thing for the number 3 – it is my lucky number. It is yet another thing The Husband doesn’t get, but I have them scattered throughout the house. You might have noticed my #3 weight in the Den and Dining Room reveal.
Or the one tucked in the bookcase in my Guest Bedroom post.
This could turn into a fun game of how many Ks, clocks or 3s you can find in each of my post’s pictures!
Well, I had a wall in my office/craft room that needed some attention. (Yes, I am aware that I have not shared my office/craft room with you yet. It is usually a complete disaster and totally not worth sharing. I will work on that though ). So I had found a fabulous 3 and coincidentally, I also had three stars that I decided to hang on the wall.
But I couldn’t have one 3 with three stars – I definitely needed three 3s! So I found a small 3 at Hobby Lobby, so now I just needed one more 3. I decided to make one by freezer paper stenciling on burlap.
I started by determining the size burlap I wanted. I was going to frame this in an 8 by 10 frame (which has an opening of 7.5 by 9.5), so I cut the burlap 7 by 9. To cut the burlap, pull a strand where you need to cut and this will create a guide for you to cut the burlap straight.
Once I had the burlap cut, I pulled out a few strands around each edge to give a raveled look. Then I cut my stencil on my Silhouette Cameo. Click here to see the full process of the Freezer Paper Stenciling.
Once the paint dried, I pulled the stencil off.
I then framed it in a double glass frame from Michael’s.
Now my wall of 3s is complete!
