As I told you about here, my sweet friend Jessica and her husband are expecting their first baby. As soon as I found out, I knew there would be a shower to plan. So once we found out the little baby is a girl (YAY!!! my favorite ), I started making decorations for the shower. Of course, I NEEDED to have that baby’s monogram so imagine my despair when Jessica told me that they were not going to name her until she was born. What? People really do that? Don’t they know that people NEED to give them monogrammed presents? I told Jessica she didn’t have to name the baby, just decide on her initials – that was all I needed. (Yes, Jessica knows me well so she is very aware that I am a bit crazy.) So I continued to work on items for the shower – I picked the colors of gray, pink and white. It was all coming together very sweetly, but it was all very plain. And then, two weeks before the shower, Jessica told my they decided on a name! That moment made me so happy! I immediately went home and started adding monograms to everything.
And then it was shower day:
Her gift along with the decorations was her diaper bag packed with goodies.
You can find out how I made the burp cloth here and the bib here (luckily, I had all the pieces cut out, but not sewn when I found out the name, so I was able to get these embroidered before I sewed them),
and the onesie gown here.
I will be making future posts to show you how I made the following:
Diaper Cake (UPDATE: click here to see the how I made the diaper cake)
Favors (UPDATE: Click here to read about the baby bootie favors)
Painted mason jars
Tissue paper flowers
